Professor Mario Castro, MD., MPHProf. Mario Castro has over 25 years dedicated to shaping asthma research and guiding the future of airway disease management. His translational research projects in the Asthma and Airway Translational Research Unit (AATRU) are focused on the pathogenesis of asthma and treatment of asthma, especially in severe disease. Prof. Mario Castro is also the lead investigator for the VESTIGE clinical trial.

ASTHMA: DUPIXENT is indicated as add-on maintenance treatment in patients aged 6 years and older with moderate-to-severe asthma with type 2 inflammation
(elevated eosinophils or elevated FeNO) that is inadequately controlled despite therapy with other medicinal products for maintenance treatment.1
COPD: DUPIXENT is indicated in adults as add-on maintenance treatment for uncontrolled COPD characterised by raised blood eosinophils on a stable combination of an ICS, a LABA, and a LAMA, or on a combination of a LABA and a LAMA if ICS is not appropriate.1
