Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a significant public health issue affecting thousands of patients globally. Worldwide 10 millions cases of VTE occur annually and it is accountable for a high number of hospitalizations. VTE consists of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). It is a disabling circumstance with a high probability of recurrence and doubtlessly deadly. Poor knowledge necessitates community education about VTE and risk factors for the same.
