  • isCGM devices: Users must manually scan the sensor with their reader or smartphone to transfer data

  • Most of these CGM devices have programmable alarms to warn patients when current or predicted glucose levels are outside their individualized target ranges

  • All the systems can transmit retrospective glucose data via web-based cloud-access sites or dedicated download software programs, to the patient’s clinician and help in comprehensive analysis and interpretation
