Infectious Disease During Mass Gathering

With the easing of COVID-19 travel restrictions globally, increasing numbers of people travelled for the 2023 Hajj, during which Saudi Arabia hosted 1.85 million pilgrims including 1.66 million international pilgrims.1

A further substantial increase in these numbers many of whom will be older people with comobidities, is anticipated for the fortcoming Hajj pilgrimage in June, 2025.1
