SINUS-24/SINUS-52 Demonstrated Reduced Need for Surgery and Oral Corticosteroids — Dupilumab Real-World Data Reinforces with 100% Reduction in the First Year of Treatment in Patients with Severe Uncontrolled CRSwNP
This Italian monocentric study (De Corso et al., 2022) evaluated the real-life effectiveness of dupilumab over the first year of treatment of severe Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP) (N=57).2 The results from this real-life observational study reinforces the efficacy of dupilumab demonstrated in the SINUS-24 and SINUS-52 randomized clinical trials and both the study design and results are consistent with the approved SmPC.1,2,3
Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps: The Interplay of Type 2 Inflammation and Smell Loss
Loss of Smell in CRSwNP
Loss of sense of smell is a common symptom of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), but its impact is often underestimated. Learn how olfactory dysfunction affects patient’s quality of life and explore the underlying mechanisms driving smell loss in CRSwNP.
From SINUS-24/SINUS-52 to Real Life: Clinical Trial Efficacy of Dupilumab in CRSwNP reinforced with DUPIREAL’s two-year real-world data
The results from the DUPIREAL real-world study reinforce the efficacy of dupilumab demonstrated in the SINUS-24 and SINUS-52 randomized clinical trials and are consistent with the approved SmPC.1,2,3,4 DUPIREAL is the largest long-term real-world study (n=926) evaluating the effectiveness of dupilumab, including treatment response, disease control and remission, in severe uncontrolled CRSwNP over 2 years.3,4
Real-World Evidence and Phase IV studies in CRSwNP
Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) generally have a high symptom burden and poor health-related quality of life (QoL), often requiring recurring systemic corticosteroid use and repeated sinus surgery.
EVEREST study: First ever direct Head-to-Head Comparison of Dupilumab vs Omalizumab in Patients with Severe CRSwNP and Coexisting Asthma
